The rideout and party...

Hi Sorry I've been a bit slack with the blog and so here are some updates.  The rideout was great, I arrived at the site of the party and straight away there were five or six lads around Blackie and they seemed really taken with the blue titanium exhausts.  I started talking to two lads from Zagreb called Alan who rides a Kawasaki Zephyr and Dario who rides a 1200 Bandit.  As soon as I mentioned the Tourist Trophy they knew where I was from.  The ride started and there were between four and five hundred bikes I would think, we rode to Supetar and then to Nerezisca.  When we entered the village there was a small square that was suddenly filled with bikes.  There was a little lad in full leathers on a race replica and a plane doing aerobatics overhead.  Everyone was really friendly The food was a local delicacy of beef marinated for four days in salt, pepper and plums before being cooked in an oven and served with pasta.  It was delicious and very filling although you would never have guessed with the amount Alan ate!

The party at the night was good, Alan and Dario had left but I arrived at about 8.30 pm.  It actually started raining and this lasted for about two hours but I made myself happy by sampling the chicken again which was once more delicious.  Everyone had a really good time.  I met the motorcyclist from England who had been travelling around the world for 12 years and I was going to take a photo of him and his bike.  He is from Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire, he worked until he was 55 and then set off on his trip, he said he has a wife back home but after 12 years I wouldn't be too sure.  Whilst I was impressed with what he has achieved I wasn't that impressed with him.  He was very derogatory about the Croatians and considering the hospitality they had shown him, even giving  him the honour of leading the rideout I thought he was pretty ungrateful.  I decided to do without the photo as I didn't really want to boost his ego any further.  Typical I thought the first dickhead I meet on the trip and he's English!!  (well from yorkshire anyway).

Well done to Dilmun Dirtjunkie, coming first in the ladies enduro on Saturday.

  1. Hi Rob, Nice to see a bikers' bash looks pretty much the same anywhere. Just need a love of bikes and a bit of sun goes a long way too. You will not want to come back at this rate. Take care. Luv Chris.xx
