I spent the weekend in Vienna and it was beautiful. I have been there before for a few days on Christmastime and it is just a good in the summer. If you like architecture and history there is so much to do. Nick would be in his element there except for the heat that is. I went to the Spanish riding school to hopefully see the Lipizzan horses training but unfortunately there is no training until August. There was a dvd showing on a screen and the things they have the horses doing looks amazing. The only problem was it was 37 degrees plus when I was there and walking round was hard work, but hey I'll soon be back in 17 degrees on a hot day so I'm not complaining :0)
I have taken some random pictures of architecture to give you an idea. I particularly liked the dome that you can walk under and the roof of the cathedral. I didn't go in as I have been in before but it's well worth a visit.
One thing though and hence the title, if you are planning on driving around the city and are as numb as me, be prepared to see the same places over and over again as the one way system is horrendous
I must say well done to Crommie and his cycle ride around the TT cours
