On 3rd July Nick and I set off for Portsmouth and then France. Straight away we had a problem, the forecast was strong winds over the Irish Sea and so our ferry to Liverpool, the seacat, Mannanan was cancelled and we were put on the Ben my Chree to Heysham. This meant that instead of arriving in England at 10:00 it would be 12:45 and we would be an hour further away from Portsmouth. Luckily we then had a good run down the motorway and so we arrived in Portsmouth in plenty of time. Whilst waiting at the port we did start to wonder what kind of boat we were getting on when we viewed our fellow passengers!
